The 2026 Ford Mustang enters the market with a bang. Ford has introduced the FX Appearance Package for the two-door Mustang, offering a retro-inspired homage to the classic 1980s third-generation Fox Body Mustang. The package is designed around recalling the iconic design from over 30 years ago for the modern-day seventh-generation outing. The FX Appearance Package is available for the Mustang GT Premium trim.
The package includes the all-new Adriatic Blue Metallic exterior color scheme, mimicking the Teal Blue from the third-generation Fox Body Mustang design. There are 19-inch wheels in mid-gloss Oxford White with color-matched center caps, as well as Oxford White nostrils in the Gloss Black hex-patterned grille for the Performance pack models. Oxford White badging and taillights are also included. Inside, the package features optional Recaro seats with perforated leather upholstery and dual-contrast stitching with City Silver and Adriatic Blue threads. The Oxford White, Adriatic Blue, and City Silver color theme is also featured on the trimming, door panels, steering wheel, and center console.
Accompanying the new shade of blue is the return of Orange Fury Metallic Tricoat, as another new exterior option for the 2026 Mustang. These join many other optional exterior colors for the Mustang, including Molten Magenta Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Race Red, Oxford White, Grabber Blue Metallic, Vapor Blue Metallic, Carbonized Gray Metallic, Iconic Silver Metallic, and Shadow Black. You can also get the 2026 Mustang in six trims, including the starting Ecoboost, EcoBoost Premium, GT, GT Premium, Dark Horse, and Dark Horse Premium. The EcoBoost, EcoBoost Premium, and GT Premium are also available in convertible format.

Sports-Infused Design

Complementing the FX Appearance Package is a modern-designed two-door sports car. The 2026 Mustang is just two years into the seventh generation, meaning it contains lots of the updated aesthetics and modifications to the exterior that was ushered in with the latest generation. There is the swooping front hood with the aggressive angles on the front fascia, as well as the iconic fastback design with the rear spoiler, or optional soft-top with a convertible functionality.
The 2026 Mustang is also available with multiple wheel designs of the 19-inch variety. There are unique colors available, such as Sinister Bronze, Premier Polished Aluminum, Carbonized Gray-Painted Aluminum, and Black Painted pockets. This opens up an opportunity to personalize the Mustang as you see fit, with a stylized look that speaks to you.
You can further customize your Mustang with packages that remove the rear spoiler, add racing stripes, or modify the front and rear fascia. Additionally, there are custom brake calipers that can further add uniqueness to the vehicle, along with the LED lighting array and hood accents. If you opt for the coupe, you have up to 13.5 cu.ft. of space in the rear cargo area, but if you go with the convertible, you can store up to 11.4 cu.ft. of cargo in the trunk area. No matter which model or design you go with, the 2026 Mustang will always look stylish and visually stunning thanks to its standout design.
Unbridled Performance

What makes the Mustang so fun to drive isn’t just how good it looks, but also how powerful it is and how well it handles that power on the road. There are three distinct powertrain configurations for the level of performance you want to get out of the Mustang. The standard powertrain is a 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbocharged inline 4-cylinder that makes up to 315 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. The 2.3-liter EcoBoost is also paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
For more power and off-the-line acceleration, the available 5.0-liter Coyote V8 that comes standard on the GT trims features up to 486 hp and 418 lb-ft of torque. Lastly is the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 tuned for the Dark Horse trim, which tops out at up to 500 hp and 418 lb-ft of torque. Both the Coyote V8 engines can be paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, or you can pop the clutch with every shift by opting for the manual 6-speed transmission. Both options enable you to experience the power and acceleration of the Mustang based on your driving preferences.
Gas-powered hydraulic dampers, and optional 4-piston calipers or 6-piston Brembo calipers give you the stability and stopping power you need, whether you’re driving in the city or on the race track. Electronic line-lock, launch control, and selectable drive modes also provide you with traction and stability management based on where you drive the Mustang. The available aluminum foot pedals also provide you with the responsiveness you’re looking for out of the vehicle’s acceleration, shifting, and braking. And you can also embrace the roar of the engine with the sleek Quad Chrome Tips and the Active Valve Performance Exhaust.
Advanced features like the MagneRide Damping System adjust ride height automatically based on speed and road conditions. Drivers can also choose the unique chassis tuning for enhanced turning and stability at high speeds. You can even take advantage of the unique intake manifold and performance-enhanced powertrain calibrations for select trims. These features boast unique performance elements for those who want to personalize how the 2026 Ford Mustang performs on the road.
Maintaining Comfort and Convenience

Power, performance, and style are all great features to have in a modern sports car. But being comfortable while you reach cruising speeds is equally important. Ford took this to heart with the 2026 Ford Mustang’s interior comfort and convenience features. This includes up to a 6-way power driver seat with heated power lumbar support and available cloth, ActiveX, or Recaro leather upholstery. This ensures that for short and long drives alike, you have both comfort and support, whether you’re navigating busy side streets or racing at top speeds on the local track.
Features like the heated steering wheel with media controls, and the dual-zone automatic climate control also make it convenient for maintaining control of the vehicle and its cabin functionality without having to take your eyes off the road or your hands off the steering wheel. Additionally, you can take control of the vehicle’s systems and functionality using voice-activated commands, for hands-free navigation.
The infotainment system is powered by the Ford SYNC 4 with a 13.2-inch HD centerstack touchscreen, featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. You can stream your favorite tunes via Bluetooth wireless streaming or connect multiple devices to the Mustang via the FordPass Connect with 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot support. It’s also possible to enjoy SiriusXM Satellite Radio and choose from three audio systems, including a 6-speaker stereo system, a 9-speaker sound system with an amplifier, or a B&O sound system from Bang and Olufsen featuring 12 speakers.
Added convenience features like the remote entry, remote power windows and locks, as well as remote start also add to the accessibility of the vehicle. You can easily and conveniently connect your smartphone to the 2026 Mustang through the FordPass app. Furthermore, download and utilize multiple apps through the infotainment center, or manage the performance and vehicle telemetry with the performance pages available for the Mustang. This streamlines the tech and performance in a seamless way, whether you’re doing daily errands or more aggressive driving.
Safety For Speed Enthusiasts

When you’re managing the amount of power that the 2026 Mustang can output, you need to make sure that you’re protected to the best of the vehicle’s ability when you’re sitting behind that wheel. Thankfully, Ford has a robust and modern suite of active and passive safety assists. This is thanks to the Ford Co-Pilot360 system and other standard safety technologies. This includes multiple front and side impact airbags, LATCH for lower anchors and tethers for children in the rear bench, and the patented Personal Safety System for the driver and front passenger.
AdvanceTrac with electronic stability control also comes standard across the trim line, along with security systems such as the perimeter alarm. The available active anti-theft system adds an extra sense of security when out and about, along with the automated SOS Post-Crash Alert System in case there is an accident. However, preventive safety systems such as driver aids that come with every model as part of the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite are aimed at providing you with alerts and assistance to stay on the road and reach your destination safely.
These driver assist features and automated systems include the Pre-Collision Assist with automatic emergency braking for preventing potential accidents in front of you. There is also the reverse brake assist to avoid potential collisions when reversing or backing out of a parking lot. Blind spot monitoring also helps you navigate both highway and inner city travel, while features like the lane centering and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality can help you make long drives feel a lot more relaxing and safe.
