There is no denying that the all-electric Mustang Mach-E took the automotive world by storm when it was first announced. Now in its second year, the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E has proven itself as one of the most exciting, innovative, and all-around fantastic SUVs in the market. Whether you are specifically looking for an SUV that is an Electric Vehicle (EV) or you simply want the best option that will keep you on the road for many years to come, the Mach-E is a terrific choice. Picking the right one for you is very important, however, since the different trims and options will impact the range, performance, and features you get.

With any EV model, you always want to look at the available battery options and motor configurations, since so much of your driving experience will depend on these factors. There are two different battery options available on the 2022 Mustang Mach-E: a Standard Range (SR) and an Extended Range (ER). In addition to this, you can get a model with single-motor Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) or dual-motor electric All-Wheel Drive (eAWD). With the right configuration, the Mach-E can get up to an estimated 314 miles of range from a full charge, and models designed for performance can go from 0 to 60 in just 3.5 seconds.

The Mustang Mach-E is all about advanced technology inside and out: not only with its fantastic battery and motor options, but also in terms of interior and safety features. Every model comes with a gorgeous 15.5-inch infotainment display standard, along with a wireless charging pad and a 10.2-inch digital instrument panel. Available options include impressive features like heated front seats with memory settings and a Bang & Olufsen audio system with nine speakers. Every model also comes with the Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0 safety suite, which includes a Lane-Keeping System, Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, and much more. Come into Future Ford of Sacramento to learn more about the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E.

Performance and Range

A Real Mustang

One of the concerns that a lot of people have when looking at EV models is the sort of range and performance they will get from the vehicle. This is completely understandable considering the limited range and sometimes weak performance that a lot of older EV options had. Fortunately, the industry has changed, and technology has greatly improved, resulting in powerful and sophisticated options that are a far cry from the last couple of generations of EVs. In fact, models like the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E are so impressive that they put a lot of Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles to shame.

When looking at performance and range with the Mustang Mach-E, there are two important considerations to keep in mind: the battery and the motor(s). In both cases, you have two options available, and this gives you quite a few different combinations across the various trims for the Mach-E. In other words, just as you would have to look at the different engine and drivetrain options in a gas or diesel ICE vehicle, it is important to consider the batteries and motors you can choose in an EV.

Powertrain Options

The Standard Range battery delivers 266 hp and either 317 lb-ft of torque with RWD or 428 lb-ft of torque with eAWD, which features two motors: one on each axle. Performance with the Extended Range battery depends on which trim and motor setup you choose, though it is always going to be more powerful than the Standard Range battery. The Extended Range battery delivers either 290 hp with RWD or 346 hp with eAWD, as well as 317 or 428 lb-ft of torque, depending on the motor setup. If you choose the performance-focused GT trim, then you get 480 hp and either 600 or 634 lb-ft of torque, depending on some options. As you can see, every Mustang Mach-E is an impressive piece of machinery, though there are certainly some differences across the various trims.

Your choice of battery also directly impacts the kind of range you can get from your Mach-E, with the Extended Range battery giving you more range, as expected. It is important to note that many different factors impact the estimated range of the Mustang Mach-E, including the trim, motor configuration, and more. The SR battery can get up to 224 miles of range with eAWD or up to 247 miles with RWD. With the Extended Range battery, you can get up to 314 miles of range with RWD or up to 312 miles of range with eAWD if you choose the California Route 1 trim, which prioritizes maximum driving distance.

An Impressive Cabin

While it is easy to focus on the all-electric design of the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E, it is important to look inside any vehicle you are interested in to ensure you can get the great features you want. Fortunately, Ford’s designers have not let the Mach-E’s remarkable performance steal the show, as the interior features are just as impressive. Some of this will depend on the trim you choose, of course, but even its standard options are excellent.

Every Ford Mustang Mach-E comes with the SYNC 4A infotainment system with Enhanced Voice Recognition and Navigation. This comes with a standard 15.5-inch display that looks absolutely stunning, along with multiple configurable Driving Experiences you can choose from to control what your time on the road is like. Standard features also include a 6-speaker sound system with Speed-Compensated Volume along with a wireless phone charging pad, a rotary gear shift dial, and extensive storage compartments throughout the interior.

Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start is standard on every model, along with numerous USB ports, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and an impressive 10.2-inch Digital Cluster Screen for the instrument panel. Available features inside the Mustang Mach-E include a heated steering wheel, multi-color ambient lighting, and heated front seats with a memory driver’s seat that remembers where you positioned it. You can also get an advanced entertainment package featuring a 9-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system to take your driving experience even further.

Standard Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0

No matter what kind of vehicle you are interested in, you need to make sure it can help keep you and your loved ones safe on the road. Fortunately, the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E includes some of the most impressive standard and available safety features in the industry. Every model comes with the Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0 package of driver assistance features as standard. This includes Auto High-Beam Headlamps, as well as a Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert to warn you when someone is in your blind spot or crossing behind you when you have the vehicle in reverse.

You also get a Pre-Collision Assist system with Automatic Emergency Braking, which can warn you when a collision is imminent and help you with braking to avoid or reduce the severity of an impact. This package also includes Post-Collision Braking to help avoid additional impacts after a crash, as well as Reverse Brake Assist and Rear Parking Sensors to help make backing up and parking in tight quarters easier. Every model also features Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, Lane Centering, and Speed Sign Recognition to make it easier to drive long distances on the highway by reducing driver fatigue.

High-Tech Options

There are also a few safety features available as part of a package or standard on higher trims of the Mustang Mach-E. These include a 360-Degree Camera system that gives you a virtual view around your vehicle to make maneuvering at low speeds in cramped areas easier. Active Park Assist 2.0 is also available, which makes parking even easier by letting your vehicle handle most of the work for you. Finally, Ford BlueCruise is also available, utilizing multiple driver-assist technologies to allow for hands-free highway driving in laser-mapped Blue Zones. All of these systems come together to help keep you safe on the road and make driving easier, whether on your daily commute or a long vacation road trip.
