The Bronco is back after a long hiatus, and buyers of the new 2021 Ford Bronco can count on being able to indulge in serious off-road experiences once again. With a past rooted in competition with Jeep, the 2021 Bronco is ready for adventuring just about anywhere you can imagine. Exciting modern features take the new Bronco to incredible levels of convenience and performance, and standard 4×4 capability means you can conquer more than trails when you get behind the wheel. When you want to get closer to nature, the 2021 Bronco has a standard removable top, doors, and windows so you can enjoy open-air driving.

Every 2021 Bronco comes with generous standard features suited to tackling rough terrain, including G.O.A.T. modes to handle the hardest work for you. Take on the world with standard 16-inch wheels fitted with large 30-inch tires, electronic shift-on-the-fly four-wheel capability, and a two-speed transfer case mated to a seven-speed manual transmission that includes a low-speed crawl gear. Enjoy the convenience of modern life with keyless entry and push-button ignition, standard dual charging ports for devices in both front and rear seats, and LED headlights for clear visibility anywhere you go.

Choose from the more compact two-door Bronco body style with a removable hardtop and seating for four, or the larger four-door with a standard removable soft top and seating for five. Seven trims are available for the 2021 Bronco, including a limited run of First Edition models loaded with convenient features and custom graphics only available for the Bronco’s first year back to buck the competition. Few vehicles that claim off-road capability can handle the true challenge of backcountry terrain the way the 2021 Bronco can, and buyers can expect to experience a whole new side of Ford toughness.

Performance and Capability

It’s Time to Get Muddy

When you plan to get out into the wild and get dirty, the 2021 Bronco is the perfect way to ride. The standard 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine makes an impressive 300 hp with 325 lb-ft of torque for taking on those challenging trails, and the standard seven-speed manual transmission virtually guarantees fun will come along with you for your next trip. If you prefer to let the transmission do its own work, opt for the available ten-speed automatic that also pairs with the available 2.7-liter V6 engine. This larger engine upgrades the Bronco to 325 hp with 415 lb-ft of torque to take on the toughest terrain.

With Base trim models, the 2021 Bronco starts with five standard G.O.A.T. modes that include normal, eco, sport, slippery, and sand, with each mode providing a different set of capabilities that are electronically managed to handle a variety of terrain types. Two additional G.O.A.T. modes are included in upper trims: mud/ruts and rock crawl for more daring escapades. The HOSS suspension system keeps your Bronco well-sorted on uneven ground and paved roads alike, and you can add the optional front and rear locking differentials to any trim level for exceptional articulation during off-road maneuvers.

Use the standard part-time 4×4 system or go for the available on-demand automatic 4×4 system with any trim level. For even more off-road prowess, the Sasquatch package can take your 2021 Bronco to the next level of capability. This package makes any Bronco trim a brute force machine with 35-inch tires, 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels, a rear locking differential, Bilstein shocks, and high-clearance fender flares. With the Sasquatch package, the standard 8.4 inches of ground clearance raises to 11.6 inches to tower over obstacles. Additional front bash plates, a brush guard, and a heavy-duty bumper can all be optioned for improved protection from damage while you ramble through the wilderness.

Practicality for Adventure

A Place for Everything

Ford took the time to develop a new 2021 Bronco with serious adventuring in mind. Standard features can easily transform into a custom vehicle at any trim level to build a Bronco suited to your style of off-road adventure, from the available MOLLE loops fitted to the seat backs to the dozens of locations inside and out where accessories can be fastened according to your own specs. Cargo space is generous, with the more compact two-door body style offering 23.6 cubic feet in the back and 52.3 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down. The larger four-door body style has 35.6 cubic feet available behind the rear seats, or fold them down for up to 77.6 cubic feet with the standard hardtop.

When you choose the larger four-door Bronco, you can enjoy the freedom of open-air driving with the perfect amount of space to store your doors when you remove them. Keep the removed parts safe in protective covers while you travel. Cargo management has never been easier with the available system of shelves, nets, and tie-downs inside the 2021 Bronco that keep all your supplies secure no matter how wild the terrain gets, and exterior Trail Sight tie-downs can serve dual duty for helping to gauge the proximity of your Bronco’s four corners to obstacles or for acting as tie-down points for cargo on the roof. Each tie-down is made to be a perfect fit for bungee cord hooks or nylon straps.

If you ever encounter obstacles that damage your Bronco, never fear: the 2021 Bronco has removable fenders that can be replaced by rock-friendly accessory parts to keep your Bronco bash-free. While you’re behind the wheel, increase your sense of confidence further with electronic features available for all trims, like Trail Control to modulate your low-speed crawling to allow you to focus on the trail ahead. Use Trail Turn Assist to tighten your turning radius so you can cut sharp corners in small spaces, or opt for Trail One-Pedal Drive that lets you brake as easily as lifting your foot.

Tech and Safety

Designed for the Future

Just because you plan to go places most people will never see, far away from power lines or phone networks, doesn’t mean you need to go without modern conveniences. Ford provides a wide array of technology and driver-assist safety in the 2021 Bronco, so you don’t have to rough it unless you want to. Features like standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto make connecting your smartphone as simple as slipping into a seat with your phone in hand, and the standard eight-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system is intuitive to use while you scroll and swipe through the pages to access features like SiriusXM 360 or the apps loaded into the SYNC 4 system.

For more confident trail riding away from network access, available offline navigation can upload GPS files with topographical maps so that you always know where you are. When you activate the system, it records your position on the route as you cross the terrain, and it also allows you to share maps with other drivers so you can access the same trail data. Your SYNC 4 system has maps for over 250,000 trails that will guide you offline so you can take any route you want, knowing you have directions to lead you back out safely again.

Speaking of safety, driver-assist features make taking the roads to the trail systems safer, too. Ford gives all models the CoPilot 360 safety suite standard. Expect typical features like forward collision warning and pedestrian detection to be part of the numerous features to prevent and mitigate accidents, plus conveniences like automatic high beams and adaptive cruise control to make driving at night and on highways less fatiguing. Standard features like trailer sway control and 911 Assist are found on all 2021 Bronco models, as well as a perimeter alarm for extra security. Anywhere you go in your 2021 Bronco, Ford provides the features to keep you safe on your travels.
