When it comes to the Ford lineup, there are some models that stand out, including the F-150, the Mustang, and the Bronco. This makes sense, as these three represent the brand’s most popular nameplates. Taking a closer look at the three, it’s clear that the Bronco is the one that has changed the most throughout the years, even while its spirit has stayed the same.
The Bronco’s Iconic Start
When the Bronco initially hit dealership lots all the way back in 1966, it could be purchased as a two-door wagon, pickup, or roadster—and while changes were made over its first 30 years, the choice to remain a two-door model despite a growing interest in four-door SUVs is one of the reasons why it was ultimately put on hold. However, when it was reintroduced in 2021, it not only offered both a two- and four-door option, but it also offered better maneuverability thanks to its smaller platform, advanced off-road technology, improved efficiency, and double the horsepower and torque.
The Bronco Now
Today, the 2026 Ford Bronco continues to attract attention, especially with its 60th Anniversary Package, which features a retro-inspired aesthetic, unique 60th Anniversary badging, the Sasquatch Package for enhanced off-roading, and more. In addition to this package, there are others to choose from, along with seven different trims to ensure you’re able to find the right match for your unique driving needs.
Our team at Future Ford of Sacramento is well-versed in what the Ford Bronco brings to the table—or the trails, depending on your driving routine—making us the ideal team to answer any questions you might have about this iconic SUV. You can view our selection online or stop by the dealership for a closer look and a test drive. Either way, we’re excited to help.
For now, keep reading to learn more about the 2026 Ford Bronco and why it is a compelling option if you are looking for a well-rounded midsize SUV that feels at home downtown, on the highway, and navigating the trails.
Off-Road Capabilities

From the beginning, the Bronco was designed to tackle the road less traveled, and that focus didn’t change just because the SUV offered two additional doors. In fact, you will find that its off-road capabilities are better than they ever were before.
Even better? Even the Bronco Base trim offers the availability of the High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension, or HOSS, system and five GOAT, or Go Over Any Terrain, Modes: Normal, ECO, Sport, Slippery, and Off-Road. Additionally, the Bronco Base has up to 11.6 inches of ground clearance and up to 33.5 inches of water fording capability.
As you move through the trims, you will notice other features added that make quick work of the trails, such as the additional two GOAT modes—Rock Crawl and Baja—offered on the Badlands, Stroppe Edition, and Raptor trims. The Bronco Badlands also offers a front stabilizer disconnect and HOSS 2.0 instead of the 1.0 version mentioned above. That system includes Bilstein position-sensitive dampers.
For the top-tier Bronco, the Raptor, the HOSS system is the 4.0 version, complete with FOX Live Valve 3.1 Internal Bypass Semi-Active Dampers, as well as seven GOAT modes and the front stabilizer bar disconnect.
HOSS Systems
Before moving on, it’s a good idea to understand what the HOSS system is since it plays a big part in the Bronco’s design.
- HOSS 1.0: This base system is best for daily driving, dirt roads, and mild trails. It is essentially an entry-level suspension system that provides you with a balanced and comfortable daily drive. It’s also specifically good for higher-speed trail running.
- HOSS 2.0: This system feels at home rock climbing and navigating moderate to aggressive trails. What might surprise you is that it also transitions quite well to daily driving, offering both comfort and responsive handling.
- HOSS 3.0: This level is another upgrade and is meant for serious trail-goers. It includes FOX Internal Bypass Dampers, front steel bash plates, Ford Performance severe-duty steering rack, and tie rod ends.
- HOSS 4.0: This system is the one to choose for high-speed desert running, jumping, and extreme terrain. What makes this system truly unique is that it can adjust hundreds of times per second for optimal control, and it offers a greater amount of impact absorption than the other two.

The 2026 Ford Bronco goes above and beyond when it comes to technology, allowing you to stay connected, feel more confident on the trails, and safely reach your destination. Some of the standard and available technology features you will find onboard are explored further below.

Package Options

As mentioned, the 2026 Ford Bronco offers a new 60th Anniversary Package to the mix. That package joins several others, giving you the ability to fully customize your ride. In fact, you will find there are 11 available appearance packages to choose from. The good news is that our team knows these packages inside and out, making it easy to find the one that works best for your driving routine. To get you started, however, we’ll outline a few of the more popular options.
- Sasquatch Package: The Sasquatch Package, which is standard on both the Heritage and Stropped Editions, is available for the Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks, and Badlands trims. It includes features such as 17” Carbonized Gray-painted alloy wheels, electronic-locking front and rear axles, high-clearance fender flares, and an available HOSS 3.0 system with FOX Internal Bypass Dampers.
- Mid Package: This package adds interior convenience and exterior power, providing you with amenities such as ambient footwell lighting, heated front-row seats, a 400W Pro Power Onboard generator, rear parking sensors, and dual smart-charging USB ports. It is standard on the Heritage Edition and Outer Banks, but you can add it to the Base, Big Bend, or Badlands trims.
- Lux Package: This package includes everything offered in the Mid Package, but it takes things up a notch by adding a 360-degree camera, Evasive Steering Assist, front parking sensors, SYNC 4 technology, and LED approach lamps in the sideview mirrors. It is standard for the Stroppe Edition and Raptor, as well as available for the Outer Banks and Badlands trims.
- 60th Anniversary Package: The 60th Anniversary Package is exclusive to the Outer Banks model. It comes in Wimbledon White or Ruby Red Metallic. The latter also includes a Wimbledon White roof. You will also find that it is outfitted with unique badging, graphics, and wheels, ensuring it truly stands out in a crowd. Finally, the Sasquatch Package is part of this package as well.
Accessories
Of course, packages aren’t the only way to customize your ride. We can also walk you through a wide array of accessories, from kennels and water coolers to kayak carriers and even tents. These items take your adventures to the next level, whether you have overlanding on your bucket list or just enjoy the occasional weekend camping trip.
More Options
Beyond package options, you might be curious about the ability to choose between a hard or soft top or fully remove the roof and doors. Regarding the ladder, every trim offered allows you to remove the doors and store them in the included bags so they’re protected when not on the vehicle.
For the former, there are several available roof styles to choose from, including a removable hard top, a mesh soft top, and a retractable soft top—not to mention the available color options when choosing the Outer Banks, Badlands, and Raptor models. Once again, we can review all your options with you to make sure you get the look you’re after.
Power and Performance

Last but not least, it’s good to know what’s under the hood. For the Bronco Base and Big Bend trims, you will find a 300-horsepower 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 engine, along with your choice of a seven-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission. That same engine is what powers the Outer Banks, Badlands, and Heritage trims, but you can opt for a 330-horsepower 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine instead. However, it is worth noting that the Outer Banks trim does not offer the seven-speed manual transmission.
For the Stroppe Edition, the 330-horsepower 2.7L EcoBoost V6 is standard, and just like the Outer Banks trim, it only offers the 10-speed automatic transmission. At the top of the trims is the Raptor, which provides you with even more power. Under its hood, you will find a 418-horsepower 3.0L EcoBoost V6 engine that is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
As far as towing performance, every Bronco other than the Raptor model—which gives you the ability to tow up to 4,500 lbs—has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 lbs. This is more than enough for a small camper, boat, or ATV trailer.
