The redesigned 2025 Ford Expedition takes this full-size SUV to the next level, putting rivals such as the Chevy Suburban and Toyota Sequoia on notice. The new model year brings lots of new features to the table, as well as exciting new opportunities for families to experience great technology and connectivity while on the go. With seating for up to eight people across three rows, the full-size 2025 Expedition does a lot to exceed expectations and then some.
The exterior of the Ford Expedition has been refreshed with an all-new front fascia featuring a more tech-savvy LED lighting array, an updated grille design, and a more utilitarian bumper. An all-new dual-opening powered dampened tailgate has also been introduced, giving the Expedition a lot more utility than ever before, perfect for work and play alike. This accompanies an all-new tech setup for the infotainment stack for improved visibility, functionality, and accessibility. Most notable, however, is the addition of the all-new Expedition Tremor, which adds improved off-road capabilities to the Expedition and gives it even more off-road prowess.
The all-new Tremor, featuring large tires, a high-output EcoBoost V6, and a retuned suspension, joins three other trims in the lineup, which starts with the Active and is followed by the Platinum and King Ranch. The Tremor is the only trim not available in an extended-length Expedition MAX version. The Active, Platinum, and King Ranch can be configured as an Expedition MAX so you can access more cargo capacity out of the full-size SUV. You can get the 2025 Expedition in eight different colors, including Star White Metallic Tri-Coat, Glacier Gray Metallic Tri-Coat, Dark Matter, Stone Blue Metallic, Agate Black Metallic, Oxford White, Space Silver Metallic, and Wild Green.

Performance

Two Engine Options
There are two different powertrains and two different drivetrain configurations. The standard 3.5L EcoBoost turbocharged V6 makes 400 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque, while the high-output iteration of the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 for the Tremor and Platinum trims manages 440 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, and you can have the Expedition configured in rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive for improved stability and traction. The full-size SUV can trailer up to 9,600 lbs worth of cargo.
All of the Expedition trims come with electronic stability control, traction control, and trailer sway control. You also have the integrated AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control, which makes the vehicle stable on all types of different surfaces. Roll Stability Control also helps prevent the Expedition from rolling or tipping over. With the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package equipped, the Expedition features an integrated trailer brake controller. All of the trims also come with auto stop-start technology, anti-lock brakes, and an electronically power-assisted steering system.
The All-Terrain Tremor
The Expedition really shines with the new Tremor trim, which comes with a retuned and modified suspension for improved off-road traversal. The factory lift with premium passive shocks and large 33-inch all-terrain tires provides an impressive 10.6 inches of ground clearance. The Tremor also features an electronic locking rear differential and multiple skid plates to protect the undercarriage, inspired by the F-150 Raptor. The Tremor embodies its own unique style with 18-inch Carbonized Gray aluminum alloy wheels featuring Electric Spice pockets that match the front tow hooks and side inlet surrounds on the front fascia. All four-wheel drive models of the Expedition feature a Terrain Management System, but the Tremor adds Ford Trail Control for one-pedal rock crawling and stable traversal on dirt, gravel, rock, or sand.
Convenience

Relaxing and Comfortable
Convenience is king in a full-size, family-oriented SUV. You need relaxing and comfortable seating, multiple compartments for storage, and easy access to your belongings and cargo, and the 2025 Ford Expedition excels in this area. The full-size SUV makes it easy to indulge in both daily driving and long excursions thanks to its three rows of seating for up to eight people and cargo capacity that you can make use of both inside and out. You have the ability to store items across all three rows or make use of the roof rails, perfect for those going on camping trips or weekend hiking excursions.
You have an available Panoramic Vista Roof to help bring light from outside into the cabin, as well as useful features like rain-sensitive windshield wipers and privacy glass for back rows, including on the rear liftgate. The liftgate itself is also quite exquisite, featuring power-operated upper and lower tailgate sections, making it excellent for multiple purposes beyond just storing your cargo in the back. You can use the lower tailgate as a table or work surface, or if you need to quickly toss something in the back, you can use the dedicated upper tailgate to load your items. You even have a Cargo Tailgate Manager to make using the rear storage area easier.
Interior Features
Inside, you have optional seven or eight-person seating. You can choose either captain chairs in the first and second rows and a bench in the third row or captain chairs up front and benches in the second and third rows. You have a standard 10-way power driver seat and eight-way power front passenger seat, both featuring power recline and lumbar support, as well as available heated and ventilated front-row seats. A leather-wrapped power-tilt and telescoping steering wheel with audio controls makes it easy to comfortably stay in control of the vehicle while managing the media settings, and the ability to power-fold the second and third-row seats opens up additional storage at the touch of a button.
Carpeted floors, a Flex Powered Console, and cabin ambient lighting make it easy to keep the interior feeling comfortable. You have multiple coat hooks for storing items, perfect if you need to keep your work clothes clean and wrinkle-free on the drive in. Multiple beverage holders and AC power outlets are featured throughout the cabin, so you can keep your drinks steady or plug in electronic devices while on the go. Best yet, the front-row seatbacks offer Digital Device Holders for smartphones and tablets, so your passengers can hook up a display to the back of a seat and watch their favorite shows or play their favorite games from their smart devices.
Technology
Exciting New Features
The technology for the 2025 Expedition is headlined by an exciting new infotainment stack featuring an all-new 24-inch digital instrument display that works as the digital cluster for telemetry and vehicle health information. You can customize what is on display with easy-to-view layouts, and the screen allows you to look over the steering wheel rather than peer through it. This will enable you to focus on the information you need without taking your eyes too far away from the road.
Accompanying the 24-inch digital display cluster is a 13.2-inch HD touchscreen. This enables you to access apps and more. Bluetooth wireless streaming makes it possible for you to listen to your playlists and music without any cords, while wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto projection comes standard across the trim lineup. Plus, you have digital assistants, such as Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, enabling you to quickly access vehicle functions, route planning, and navigation.
You can keep your devices charged via the wireless charging pad or with multiple USB ports across the first, second, and third rows. There is also the option to enjoy some of your preferred stations via SiriusXM with 360L or HD Radio through the available 22-speaker B&O Unleashed Sound System. The FordPass Connect 5G Wi-Fi hotspot enables you to connect multiple devices through the Expedition while you enjoy the cabin experience comfortably, thanks to the tri-zone climate control.
Advanced Driver Assistance
The 2025 Expedition also lets you bypass the troubles of manually driving to your location thanks to the inclusion of BlueCruise hands-free driving. Even if you don’t opt to make use of the automated driving tool, you still have standard Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, as well as a litany of active safety features that come standard, such as Lane-Keeping Assist, Lane-Keeping Alert, a Blind Spot Information System, Pre-Collision Assist with Emergency Braking, and more. You have the Personal Safety System that comes standard on every trim, along with the Safety Canopy System that protects all three rows. You have a 360-degree camera, Pro-Trailer Hitch Assist, and push-button start to make getting in and going easy with the 2025 Expedition.
