Ford is continuing to increase its efforts in the electric vehicle (EV) space; in fact, it’s hoping to produce two million EVs per year by 2026. It’s just one way this iconic American vehicle manufacturer is doing its part to be kinder to the planet and ensure a hospitable future for the generations to follow. Ford’s plans to put out more EVs also align with California’s plans to ban the sale of new gas-engine vehicles by 2035.

Many drivers see the value in switching to an EV, and we are proud to offer these alternative and clean vehicles to loyal Ford drivers. If you’re looking for a Sacramento EV dealer, we look forward to you visiting us at Future Ford of Sacramento. Shop Our Selection of New Ford EVs

We have an incredible selection of new EVs and can’t wait to show them to our Sacramento drivers. For instance, the ever-popular F-Series—Ford’s powerful full-size truck—is available in an EV model called the F-150 Lightning. For years, contractors, farmers, and other hard workers have relied on the equally tough F-150 to get jobs done. Now, those same drivers can ditch costly gasoline for this strong pickup and rely on the potency of an electric battery. The F-150 Lighting will offer everything drivers have always loved about this pickup, like an impressively high towing ability (10,000 lbs for the 2023 model) and payload (2,235 lbs for the 2023 model).

The F-150 Lightning also has an available massive 15.5-inch infotainment screen, where you can measure and manage with intelligent trailering systems, play music and media, coordinate a travel plan, and more. Plus, with an EPA-estimated 240-mile range, you can travel between jobs without pulling over too often to recharge.

We’re also excited to show drivers the Mustang Mach-E, a compact SUV BEV that is stylish, powerful, and loaded with fun features. With seating for five and flexible cargo options, it’s ideal for small families or professionals looking to impress clients. Plus, an available panoramic fixed-glass roof and available B&O sound system give this vehicle’s interior a distinctly luxury feel. Its front-loaded trunk is especially cool; it is water-resistant and has a drain in the floor, so it can be washed out! Don’t hesitate to throw a cooler’s worth of ice in there!

Drivers who need room for a crew can check out the E-Transit, Ford’s BEV van. It comes in several designs, including a low roof, medium roof, and high roof configuration, depending on your passenger and cargo needs. Its max range is roughly 126 miles, so it’s ideal for transporting large groups for day trips.

What to Consider When Shopping for an EV

We’re here to answer any questions you might have about shopping for an EV. Since EVs are different from gas-engine vehicles, you’ll be looking at some new features you might not be accustomed to considering. The first of these new considerations is the battery range of the vehicle, which simply means how many miles it can go before the battery needs to be recharged. Ford EVs differ in their ranges, much like how different sizes of gas tanks afford different expected travel distances.

If you’re looking for something for running errands around town, a range of around 100 miles will be more than enough to let you enjoy long stretches without having to recharge. Meanwhile, if you have to commute far for work or are looking for a great road trip vehicle, a range of 200 miles and up might be better for you.

It’s also important to consider how you want to charge your EV. Every Ford EV comes with a Ford Mobile Charger with two connectors for 120V and 240V outlets, respectively. For even faster at-home charging, you can have a professional install a Ford Connect Charge station at your home, which can send a maximum of 48A to your battery. Additionally, when you’re on the road, you can take advantage of the FordPass App, which will show you where the nearest public charging stations are.

One of the last things you might want to consider is what you’ll do with all the money you save each month by not having to pay for gas. We’ll let you have fun with that one.

We Can Help You Find a Great Used EV

Ford has an interesting history with electric vehicles. In fact, Ford actually released the Ford Model T as an electric vehicle back in 1908. There are rumors that Ford will release an electric Ranger by 2030. This iconic American manufacturer has a lot of experience in BEVs and doesn’t appear to be slowing down any time soon.

If you are interested in a pre-owned EV from Ford, our team would be happy to show you our selection.
