Of course, all of those different options can feel overwhelming. That’s where we come in. In this guide, we’ll be going over your options for the 2023 F-150 in order to help you figure out which truck is right for you. At Future Ford of Sacramento, we go above and beyond to make sure that all of our customers have the information they need to succeed.

Basic Trims

With a variety of trim levels for you to choose from, the F-150 can be had at a range of price points. The base XL trim is plenty capable, with a standard 3.3L V6 engine that provides 290 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque. You also have the option to upgrade the engine if you need a little extra power. For instance, the available 3.5L EcoBoost V6 delivers 400 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque.

The XL comes standard with an eight-inch touchscreen that makes it easy to operate the infotainment system and a Rear View Camera with Dynamic Hitch Assist, so you can easily line up with your trailer. Driver-assistance features like Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking and Auto High-Beam Headlamps also come standard, so you can drive with confidence. This trim is the most affordable option, giving you the chance to get a new F-150 at a price that works for your budget.

If you want to get a few more standard features, you can upgrade to the XLT. This trim comes standard with a two-bar-style black grille with chrome surround and a chrome bumper insert, so you can hit the road in style. It also comes standard with a Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert and Trailer Tow Coverage, so you can stay aware of the vehicles around you and behind you at all times for extra peace of mind.

Luxurious Trims

Moving up the ladder, the Lariat trim comes standard with a 2.7L EcoBoost V6. Despite its smaller size, this well-engineered turbocharged powertrain delivers more performance, with 325 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. In the cab, the Lariat comes standard with a large 12-inch touchscreen on the dashboard as well as a 12-inch digital productivity screen behind the wheel. That means information like navigation directions, warnings, and vehicle diagnostics can easily be checked at a glance.

For interior comfort, the Lariat offers standard dual-zone automatic temperature control, ambient lighting, and heated and ventilated front seats. Both the front seats and the pedals are power-adjustable, and the memory feature means you don’t have to fiddle with your settings whenever you switch drivers. You can save your ideal settings to your keyfob for perfect comfort every time you start the engine. For added comfort, the Lariat also comes standard with leather-trimmed seats, and heated rear seats are available.

If you want both hefty power and the height of luxury, the King Ranch is worth springing for. This trim comes standard with a 5.0L V8 that produces 400 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque, so you can tackle any project. In addition to the interior features that come standard on the Lariat, you’ll also get full-leather front bucket seats and heated leather second-row seats, a unique interior with genuine wood accents, a flow-through center console with a stowable shifter, a heated steering wheel, and a Bang & Olufsen sound system that features eight speakers and is sure to satisfy any audiophile. Standard Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control lets you set both a cruising speed and a minimum distance between you and the vehicle ahead of you, so you can use it even when traffic is slowing down and speeding back up.

One more step up, the Platinum comes with all of the standard features of the King Ranch, plus even more style and tech features. Shiny 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, chrome door handles and side mirror caps, and a satin aluminum tailgate applique add some extra class to the exterior. On a practical level, Ford’s 360-Degree Camera Package comes standard, so you can get a bird’s eye view around your truck, which can come in handy while parking or hitching up to a trailer in tight spaces.

Off-Road Trims

If you want to be able to take your F-150 off-road, then there are two trim levels for you to choose from. The Tremor comes standard with a 5.0L V8 engine that brings 400 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque to the table, while off-road shocks in the front and rear keep your ride nice and smooth even when the trail gets bumpy. Sturdy 33-inch all-terrain tires give you height and grip on a variety of surfaces. Underneath, tough skid plates protect the fuel tank, transfer case, and front differential.

For the biggest thrills, you can’t go wrong with the F-150 Raptor, which comes standard with a special 3.5L EcoBoost High-Output V6 engine that provides 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. High-powered fans built into the cooling system let you put the pedal to the metal for extended periods of time without overheating the engine. The Raptor’s unique five-link rear suspension has extra-long trailing arms and 24-inch coil springs for optimal performance on rough terrain. Sport-tuned shock absorbers in the front and rear are there to provide a comfortable ride, no matter what.

Full-Hybrid Powertrain

Ford’s 3.5L PowerBoost Full Hybrid V6 powertrain is an available option on several trim levels but comes standard on the 2023 F-150 Limited. This hybrid isn’t just efficient; it’s also powerful, bringing 430 hp and 570 lb-ft of torque to the table. The hybrid powertrain also comes standard with Pro Power Onboard. This handy feature essentially turns your truck into a mobile generator, so you can have the power you need to operate your worksite, run your campsite, or bring your tailgate party to the next level. A 2.0 kW version of Pro Power Onboard is available with some of the gas-powered engines, but the hybrid comes standard with a more powerful 2.4 kW version and allows you to unlock the extra-powerful 7.2 kW version.
